Woke Up Quick was just that when he broke his maiden at second asking on the Aqueduct turf in a tough maiden special weight.
Trained by Tom Morley, the 2-year-out out of hot first-crop sire Maximus Mischief, went out to the lead under jockey Flavien Prat and never looked back, outlasting a determined foe to get the win at the wire.
Turf season is almost at its end for the year in New York, so WUQ will take a break and be ready for his 3-year-old debut in the Spring and hopefully Saratoga next Summer.
