Our 4-year-old filly Western Lane (Candy Ride) got the job done by the smallest of margins in the 3rd race at Saratoga on August 18th, giving Blue Streak Racing, LLC our 3rd career victory at our home track during the most prestigious race meet in the country!
Trainer Ray Handal had the filly ready to fire in an off the turf race. Breaking from the outside of the Wilson chute, jockey Dylan Davis hustled Western Lane up to sit off the early speed before making his move at the top of the lane. Fighting with a long shot the whole length of the stretch, she dug deep to eke out a nose-length victory.
Western Lane greeted a full winner’s circle as several partners made the trip to Saratoga and were rewarded with a win.
