The calendar may be at just one page, but don’t let the cold get you down. It’s always the right time of year for racing, and especially now, as we’re getting geared up for a big 2024!

Blue Streak Racing has put a lot of time, energy, and resources towards developing our breeding program, and its’ starting to bear fruit. To that end, we’re proud to present two new partnership opportunities featuring homebreds that are offspring of successful Blue Streak Racing horses.

First is Kenobi (Weekend Hideaway out of Viserion by Mizzen Mast), a soon to be 3yo NY-bred gelding that is currently at the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland learning the ropes under the tutelage of trainer Keri Brion. The holiday picture below is when Kenobi (known as “Chuey” at the time) was a foal and liked to pose for pictures. You can see that hasn’t changed, as he posed for a nice conformation shot in mid-December.

Pictured below is the NY-bred ’22 yearling (soon to be 2yo) colt by Big Brown out of our multiple winning mare Flowers Vale. She was a speedball specializing at distances from 4.5f to 5.5f, and adding the distance pedigree of a Kentucky Derby/Preakness winner could be just the formula for big race success.

The ’22 Flowers Vale colt is currently in Ocala, Florida being broken and trained. He will likely be a later developing horse with his best chance at starting being later in the coming year. If all goes to plan, he will ship to Keri Brion at Fair Hill mid-March to continue his development.

So, the big question you’re wondering: what’s this going to cost me to get involved? Glad you asked! Blue Streak Racing offers arguably the best value in racing. We’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to buy inexpensive yearlings/2yos, and now with our own homebreds online, we can keep buy-ins even lower.

As with all our horses, we keep our expenses low to keep the buy-in affordable. But we may have outdone ourselves this time. The buy-in for Kenobi includes two months of training, which means no bills until February. The buy-in for ’22 Flowers Vale includes three months training. After that, you only pay your share of actual monthly bills. Shares will be available in 5% increments.

Kenobi (2yo gelding)

Buy-in includes 2 months training (Nov/Dec).

5% — $500 (plus 5% of actual bills starting w/Feb ’24 cycle)

10% — $875 (plus 10% of actual bills starting w/Feb ’24 cycle)

’22 Flowers Vale (yearling colt)

Buy-in includes 3 months training (Oct/Nov/Dec).

5% — $450 (plus 5% of actual bills starting w/Feb ’24 cycle)

10% — $800 (plus 10% of actual bills starting w/Feb ’24 cycle)

The one-year pay ahead option (one bill for the entire year, no other payments) is: $2,500 per 5% increment for either horse (plus the the cost of the horse, as shown above). This takes care of all bills for 2024. Any overage (or purse money credits) will be deducted from the 2025 one-time payment, or refunded if the horse has been retired/claimed, or the partnership has been dissolved.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact us here for more info or with any questions!
