Blue Streak Racing’s newly turned 4-year-old Rossa Veloce returned to the winner’s circle at Aqueduct on Sunday, February 6th, taking command in the 7th race under 10lb. apprentice jockey Ailsa Morrison for her 4th career victory from 14 starts.
The Ray Handal trainee employed the same stalk and pounce method that landed her a 3rd place finish in January in the slop. This time though, Ailsa took the shortest route and skimmed the rail, taking over in mid-stretch and gliding home two lengths clear.
The NY-bred daughter of Girolamo paid a healthy $30 to win, going off at 14-1. Great job, girl!
