Rossa Veloce made the last start of her 2-year old season a winning one, taking the 2nd race at Aqueduct on December 20, 2020. The NY-bred daughter of Giralamo took the lead from the onset, and fought off a tough challenger in the stretch to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths over the sloppy track.

Manny Franco took the reins for the first time and gave us a great ride. The Ray Handal team did a great job getting this filly ready for this, and all the other races this year. Rossa Veloce closes out 2020 with two wins and a placing in five starts, including in a stakes. Rossa banked $105,000 in her first season, and we hope she continues to perform well in her sophomore season.

Rossa Veloce was a $12,000 yearling purchase by our Bloodstock team, and the kind of value we’re constantly looking for. We can only hope that our next next yearling purchase, currently learning the ropes in Florida, ends up doing half as well.
