Blue Streak Racing’s 2020 yearling purchase Ribot’s Valentine (Point of Entry) made her racing debut in the Aqueduct slop on December 11th for trainer Ray Handal and jockey Dylan Davis.

Sent off at odds of 23-1, Ribot broke from the 9 hole and quickly established position on the outside and in the clear. Despite lugging out at the top of the stretch and then wandering a bit greenly in the lane, she picked off horses until she was clear in 2nd. The winner had cleared off to win by 8 lengths, but Ribot was definitely 2nd best.

A $15k purchase by Oracle Bloodstock at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton October Sale, Ribot’s Valentine has been training forwardly and shown ability in the mornings. She was scheduled to make a start over the summer at Saratoga, but a minor issue caused a postponement. We’re certainly glad we were patient, and we still got that 2-year old start. We look forward to her next start in the New Year.
