Arguably the best and biggest 2-year old sale in the country is the April Ocala Breeders Sales (OBS) event. Over 1,200 horses are showcased. All the big players come to town (Baffert, Asmussen, Pletcher, etc.), looking for the horses that’ll be on the big stage a year from now.
To that end, Blue Streak Racing was able to acquire a minority interest in a gorgeous Point of Entry filly, hip #1072. As we don’t have a controlling interest or a huge piece of the horse, we won’t be offering any part of the horse for syndication. The filly, named I’llHandalTheCash, will be trained by (not coincidently) Ray Handal. She’s already been shipped to Belmont and will continue training there for a possible debut later this summer. Very exciting!
Although we didn’t get a horse to syndicate out of the OBS sale, the May Fasig-Tipton 2-year old sale – the last major sale of the year for youngsters – in Timoniumm, Maryland just concluded last week, and there was some activity for BSR. Details to come soon!!
