Blue Streak Racing, LLC is back with a vengeance after losing Karen’s Gem to the claim on January 7th. After a little over a month with no horses on the track, we struck twice last weekend in two new locations to add horses to the stable.
On Saturday, Jordan Blair snatched Professional out of a turf race at Tampa Bay Downs. Jordan had previously trained Professional but lost him to the claim. He liked what he was seeing in Professional’s development and wanted to get him back! We were happy get in on this now 4-year old gelding, and can’t wait until he heads north with Jordan to his Churchill Downs base of operation. Professional was originally purchased at the April OBS 2-year old in training sale by our team at Oracle Bloodstock, so we’re very happy to have their stamp of approval. Welcome Professional!
And on Saturday night, our new trainer at Charlestown, Jack Hurley, secured Lady Madison out of a claiming race there. Jack has been eager to reestablish himself in the game, and we are more than happy to take a chance on a hungry ‘young gun’. Lady Madison will stay put, and race under the Blue Streak Racing silks as we open a new front in West Virginia. Welcome to this perky 5-year old mare!
Both Professional and Lady Madison looked good in their races and finished in the money, allowing them to run back in the same condition and be very competitive. We look forward to seeing both of them in the entries soon! And as always, we are continuing to look for a horse on our ‘home’ circuit at NYRA. Hopefully there will be more news to come on that front shortly, as our man at Aqueduct, Ray Handal, continues to keep his eyes peeled for opportunity.
