Bad Samaritan continues to improve, finishing 3rd in a salty Maiden Special Weight at Aqueduct on September 30th. The Ray Handal trainee, again drawing the rail, had trouble early but picked off horses steadily down the stretch to get up for the show money.
Our 2021 yearling purchase out of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga NY-bred sale ran a 66 Beyer speed figure in her second career start. Particularly positive was her gallop out after the race when she passed by the winner in only a couple strides past the wire. Bad Sam has shown she belongs at this level, and with a clean trip, should prove tough to beat next out.
